West Nile Virus

The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry confirmed West Nile Virus in York County. An 11-year old horse had acute neurological signs on September 4th, 2018. WNV was diagnosed using an ELIZA test at the Cornell Univerity Animal Health Diagnostic Center. The unvaccinated horse is alive and receiving treatment.
