Equine Infectious Anemia

On September 28, 2018 the Colorado Department of Agriculture confirmed a second case of Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) in Weld County. The 7-year old Quarter Horse mare had weight loss and anemia. Seventeen horses including the affected horse on the private facility are under quarantine. The horses under quarantine will be observed, tested and then retested in 60 days.
