Notes: The Nevada State Veterinarian received confirmation April 30th that a 9 year old Quarter Horse mare aborted on April 11th due to EHV-1 non-neuropathogenic strain. The mare was under-vaccinated and had been exposed to horses on the premise that last traveled to a High School Rodeo March 8-10 in Nevada. The owner had self imposed a travel ban on the premise after a positive case was reported April 1st in Humboldt County associated with the same rodeo in early March. No additional quarantine has been placed on the premise based on the amount of time that has passed and the fact that the premise was under a self imposed travel ban. No other horses on the premise exhibited clinical signs of disease at any time
