Eastern Equine Encephalitis

On June 6, a new EEE case was confirmed in Palm Beach County, Florida. The 14 month old, vaccinated Arabian had just moved within the county but had not been outside Palm Beach County since birth. Clinical signs began on May 31 and the horse was euthanized for humane reasons the same day. This is the first confirmed EEE case in Palm Beach County and the fourth confirmed case in Florida for 2016.
