Eastern Equine Encephalitis

The State Veterinarian’s office received laboratory confirmation of one new EEE case today. This case was an unvaccinated, 5 month old Paint from Darlington County, South Carolina. The colt did not survive. This is the first confirmed case in Florence County this year. The total number of confirmed cases in SC in 2016 is now 12.
