Clinical Signs: Respiratory signs, abscess. Confirmation Date: 11/2/2022; Horse Status: Recovering
Comments: A 22-yr-old Percheron gelding at a boarding facility showed respiratory signs and abscess, and was placed under voluntary quarantine. The horse was sampled on 10/29/22, and reported positive for Strangles (Streptococcus equi spp equi) on 11/2/2022. Other horses in barn showed clinical signs and were seen by other veterinarians.
