Eastern Equine Encephalitis

Ocean and Morris Counties, NJ

A 1- year-old mare from Ocean County and a 3-year-old gelding from Morris County have tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The mare was vaccinated for EEE but the gelding was not and both have been euthanized. These are the second and third cases of EEE in NJ this year.
