Clinical Signs: This mare was the third mare to go down at the farm with varying degrees of neurologic disease. All three mares were euthanized. On postmortem examination of this mare, brain tissue was positive for EHV-1 by PCR and negative for EEE and WNV PCR.; Confirmation Date: 10/3/2023; Horse Status: Euthanized; Vaccination Status: Undervaccinated;
Comments: The facility owner has instituted voluntary movement restrictions and biosecurity protocols under veterinary supervision.
