Age: 10; Gender: Gelding; Breed: Warmblood (WB); Onset of Clinical Signs: 1/23/2024; Clinical Signs: This gelding arrived on the property about 14 days prior to the development of clinical signs. Two draining abscesses were noted on the head along with some abrasions. A sample of the draining fluid was positive for S. equi on PCR.; Confirmation Date: 1/25/2024;

Comments: The farm owner, working with their veterinarian, has implemented voluntary animal movement restrictions and infection control procedures.;
