Comments: This was an epidemiological link to an EIA infected premises in Pierce County (previous EDCC alert 5048). Eighteen (18) horses at the location were tested for EIA and Piroplasmosis by state animal health officials. Two (2) horses at the location were reported positive for EIA on 7/17/2026 from NVSL. The positive horses have been euthanized, but the quarantine will remain in place until a sixty day retest is conducted and they are found negative per WSDA and USDA program requirements.;
