Comments: The thirteenth (13th) equine case of West Nile Virus in California in 2026 was confirmed in Shasta County. On September 15, 2026, an unvaccinated 2-year-old Quarter Horse stallion in Shasta County displaying neurologic signs was confirmed positive for West Nile Virus. The stallion is alive and recovering.;
