Eastern Equine Encephalitis

On August 3rd, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture confirmed a case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis in a 16 year old paint horse in Cabarrus County. The horse has died after contracting the virus. This is the first confirmed report of EEE in NC in 2017.
