Eastern Equine Encephalitis

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection has reported confirmation of another case of Eastern Equine Encephalitis. The 14-year-old unvaccinated QH gelding from Trempealeau County was febrile, having difficulty standing, and eventually went down September 1. He was euthanized. This is Wisconsin’s 11th confirmed case of equine EEE in 2017.
