West Nile Virus

On 9/7/17, in Jackson County, the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed a horse with West Nile Virus. On 9/9/17 the same horse was confirmed positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE). The vaccination history for this horse is unknown. The horse became clinical on 8/30/17 and was euthanized on 8/31/2017. This is the second WNV case for Florida and the fourth EEE case for Florida in 2017.
