Equine Herpesvirus- Respiratory

The New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets reports a presumptive case of Equine Herpesvirus Myeloencephalopathy (EHM) at Belmont Park. On 2/15/2018 a four year old TB filly developed clinical signs including fever, urinary incontinence, and recumbency. Due to poor prognosis, the horse was euthanized on 2/16/2018. Barn 10 at the Belmont Racetrack has been placed under a precautionary quarantine. The 21 horses in Barn 10 are being monitored for signs of illness.
