Comments: EHM horse is quarantined at a veterinary hospital. Three other horses that were exposed in the isolation barn with the EHM case became febrile and will finish out their quarantine at the veterinary clinic. One horse that was also exposed in the hospital isolation barn became febrile and is quarantined on home premise that contains three other horses. Of these three horses one became febrile and tested positive. All horses will remain under quarantine until state requirements for quarantine release are met.;

Two were euthanized due to deteriorating neurological signs and 1 remains alive and is being treated. Isolated case and all exposed animals are under quarantine .;

Comments: Texas Animal Health Commission (TAHC) officials confirmed equine herpes virus in a quarter horse on a Lynn County premises. The premises has been quarantined and will not be released until TAHC’s requirements are met. TAHC staff are working closely with the owners and local veterinarians to monitor potentially exposed horses and implement biosecurity measures. All owners who were exposed have been notified by TAHC.;
