Comments: All horses in Barn 4 were rested for Strangles via PCR and all horses tested negative. As a result, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course will be lifting the quarantine mandate of Barn 4 effective Dec. 13. The track will return to regularly scheduled training hours. Effective immediately, the racetrack will begin enforcing the following: Any trainer stabled in Barn 4 or shipping into Barn 4 must provide a negative strangles PCR test within 5 days prior to arrival. This requirement is in addition to the already required health certificates, proof of vaccinations and Coggins (as outlined in the stall application and condition book). This requirement will be in place for a minimum of 30 days.;

Comments: A total of 75 horses stabled at the Mahoning Valley Racetrack in Barn 4 are quarantined due to an outbreak of Strangles. A horse that had shipped of the grounds tested positive for Strangles with PCR. That horse is isolated. The remaining horses at the track are quarantined and one of those tested positive on November 27, 2024. That horse is being removed from the property. Temperatures are being taken twice daily. As a precaution horses with a high temperature or enlarged lymph nodes are removed from the property. Quarantine training and procedures are in place.;
